About Me

I GREW UP IN ATLANTA, GA and then made my way to Memphis, TN for college. I earned a B.A. in History from Rhodes College with a concentration in African studies. After graduation, I moved back to Atlanta to work for Coca-Cola during the 1996 Summer Olympics. I have since become an accidental nomad, moving from Atlanta to Jackson, TN to Memphis and then to New Orleans.

For both my husband and me, New Orleans became home. We had our two children there, renovated a house, and learned how to suck the head and eat the tail! We were just about to start calling ourselves "New Orleanians" when Katrina hit and the unforeseen winds of change (literally) carried us back to Memphis for a time. Now, we have moved once more and are finally- dare I say it- settled in Lookout Mountain, TN.

I have always gotten my writing fix professionally through copywriting- for law firms, non-profits, clothing stores and a yoga studio. Personally, I have been writing children's books and poems since my first story at the age of seven.  It was a moving tale about a horse, a pig and an apple.  I fell in love with bringing people and animals to life on the page.  I am forever rhyming, creating and writing. And now I'd like to share my work with anyone who wants to listen.
